5 Can’t Miss Holiday Events in Cape Cod

While it may not be beach season at the Cape, now is still a great time to visit with these can’t miss holiday events in Cape Cod.


9th Annual Glassblower’s Christmas

Visit the Sandwich Glass Museum and see hundreds of unique glass ornaments created by only the finest local Cape Cod glass artists. The one-of-a-kind displays are showcased on Christmas trees in the museum shop and gallery. Running now through December 30th, 2018.


Lighting of Pilgrim Monument

The annual lighting of the Pilgrim Monument celebrates the Pilgrim’s first landing in the new world in Provincetown on November 11th, 1620. As one of Cape Cod’s most cherished traditions, people from near and far gather to see this iconic event. With more than 3,100 lights shine, this is a true feast for the eyes. The event is free for all and starts November 21st through January 6th of 2019.


Falmouth Holiday by the Sea Weekend

Greet Santa at the Falmouth Harbor, a favorite tradition that draws in crowds to the shores of Cape Cod. With colorful sunsets, harbor views, and picturesque lighthouses dotting the landscape, this is the best way to ring in the Christmas holiday! All weekend long there are numerous holiday events in Cape Cod to help celebrate the season such as a jingle bell run, caroling in the streets, lighting of the Village Green, and the biggest small-town Christmas parade. December 7th – 9th, 2018.


Gardens Aglow at the Heritage Museums and Gardens

As one of Cape Cod’s most celebrated tree lighting spectacles, Gardens Aglow is a favorite amongst locals and tourists alike. Visitors will be able to stroll through over nine miles of holiday lights, vast holiday decorations, and take part in numerous activities around the grounds. This year the event will feature expanded light displays and outdoor interactive displays for all to enjoy. The event runs November 23rd through December 30th, 2018.


Ride the Polar Express

All aboard to Christmas town! Bring your imagination to life onboard the Cape Cod Central Railroad Polar Express train. The cozy, vintage train transports passengers from Buzzards Bay to the “North Pole” where Santa greets travelers with a special gift. Tickets are available on their website, accommodating small to large groups.
